Oakland A's, Mayor Schaaf, Want Ballpark At Howard Terminal Not Laney College Howard Terminal is still very much in play as the future site of the Oakland A's and for two reasons: The A's John Fisher wants them there and so does Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf. Reports that the Athletics favor Laney College over Howard Terminal are false. Laney College was rejected as a site by the Coliseum JPA in 2000 and because of issues with current ballfields and a next door elementary school. Howard Terminal is still the one. The matter of BART access can be overcome and the Mayor believes solutions can be developed. Stay tuned.
